Looking for top-quality abrasion-resistant steel plate? Look no further than GNEE – a leading manufacturer and supplier of top-grade NM 500 steel plates in China.
When it comes to wear-resistant steel, NM 400, NM 450, and NM 500 are among the most popular grades around. These top-grade steel plates are specifically designed to withstand high levels of wear and abrasion even in the most demanding environments.
At GNEE, we're committed to providing our customers with superior quality steel plates that meet the highest industry standards. Our NM 500 abrasion-resistant steel plates are designed to deliver exceptional performance, durability, and reliability in even the toughest conditions.
Wear-resistant steel plate is one of the hot-selling products of Gnee Steel. Wear resistant alloy steel plate has the characteristics of high hardness, good wear resistance, strong impact resistance, and weldability. Commonly used wear- resistant alloy steel plates include: NM360, NM400, NM450,NM500, NM600, etc. These alloy steel plates are widely used in fields such as mining equipment, cement equipment, and
construction machinery.
The NM500 steel that we offer comes in a wide range of sizes to suit your needs. Our NM500 wear resistant plate has a thickness range of 3mm to 100mm, with a width range of 1500mm to 2300mm and an L dimension that can be specified to meet your requirements.
To match your desired aesthetic, our NM500 steel plates come with a black surface. This black surface helps to hide any scratches or blemishes that may occur over time, keeping your steel looking clean and new for longer.
In terms of condition, our NM500 steel plates are supplied in a Q+T prehard condition. This means that they have been quenched and tempered to achieve a hardness level that provides excellent wear resistance, making them ideal for a range of industrial applications.
The NM 500 steel is a popular wear-resistant steel due to its high hardness level. This steel is equivalent to several other steel grades such as JFE-EH500, K500, 500V, and nm500. These equivalent grades are produced by GBT 24186, JFE, SUMITOMO, DILLIDUR, and SSAB, respectively.
The chemical composition of NM500 steel is crucial in determining its properties. Based on the NM500 standard, the steel grade contains a maximum of 0.38% of carbon, 0.70% of silicon, 1.70% of manganese, 0.020% of phosphorus, and 0.010% of sulfur. Additionally, the composition includes a maximum of 1.50% of chromium, 1.00% of nickel, 0.65% of molybdenum, and 0.50% of titanium. The presence of boron is within the range of 0.0005-0.006%, while the aluminum content must be equal to or greater than 0.01%.
NM500 steel presents superior wear resistance properties due to its high hardness level. The mechanical properties of this steel grade are critical in its application. Its tensile strength is 1350 Mpa, with a minimum elongation of 7%. The Charpy V Impact Test performed shows a minimum of 21 J longitudinal at -20℃/-40℃. Additionally, the hardness of the NM500 steel grade differs at different thicknesses. At ≤70mm thickness, it ranges from 420-480 HB, while the range is 450-540 HB at thicknesses greater than 70mm but less than or equal to 100mm.
The heat treatment process enhances the properties of NM500 steel to make it more applicable to specific industrial applications. The steel grade is usually delivered in a Q+T (Quenched and Tempered) condition. Quenching is achieved by heating the steel to 820-850°C and quenching in oil or water. On the other hand, tempering is a process of heating the steel to 540-680°C, depending on the desired hardness.

Wear and abrasion resistant steel plates are critical materials needed in many industries, particularly in mining, construction, and material handling. Among the grades of steel plates available, NM400, NM450, and NM500 are the most frequently used due to their exceptional performance in high-wear and high-abrasion environments.
The primary function of these wear-resistant steel plates is to protect equipment and structures from damage caused by wear and abrasion. Specifically, they are commonly used for lining chutes and hoppers to prevent damage to these components caused by abrasive materials. This makes them ideal for use in industrial settings where processes involve large volumes of abrasive materials such as cement, coal, and minerals.
The toughness and resilience of NM400, NM450, and NM500 are due to their unique chemical composition and manufacturing processes. These plates are designed to withstand even the most demanding environments where other materials would fail. Apart from their high resistance to wear and abrasion, they are also highly resistant to impact, making them ideal for use in high-impact applications.
By using these wear and abrasion resistant steel plates, industries can significantly reduce maintenance and replacement costs for equipment and structures exposed to harsh environments. Their durability and extended service life make them a practical and cost-effective solution for various wear and abrasion-related issues in industrial applications.
