The anti-corrosion technology of railway spikes has been continuously innovated with the development of materials science. In the early days, hot-dip galvanizing was used for anti-corrosion treatment. By forming a zinc layer on the surface of the spike, air and moisture were isolated and the corrosion rate of the metal was slowed down. However, in harsh environments such as high humidity and strong salt spray, this traditional process is difficult to meet long-term protection needs.
In recent years, composite anti-corrosion technology has gradually become the mainstream. For example, a layer of high-performance epoxy resin coating is applied on the basis of the galvanized layer to form a "zinc-organic coating" composite protection system. This coating not only has excellent corrosion resistance, but also can increase the friction between the spike and the sleeper to prevent loosening.
